Boris heads Suntrace as Managing Director and founder since July 2009. He focuses on investment and finance in projects mainly in India, Africa, and Latin America. He has been advising on solar projects of around 1000 MW capacity among others in Chile, Mexico, Southern Africa as well as the MENA region.
Boris' specializes in energy economics, financing and investment for large scale solar projects. Before establishing Suntrace, Boris directed over two years the Concentrating Solar Power Division of Epuron GmbH, a subsidiary of German stock-listed Conergy AG. In this role, he was responsible for an international team of 20 solar thermal professionals who managed to identify and develop CSP projects with an overall capacity of over 350 MW.
Prior to his experience with Conergy Group, Boris worked as Financial Director of Germany's largest Independent Power Producer STEAG GmbH. At STEAG, Boris was responsible for the corporate finance and treasury as well as for the successful financing of over 3,000 MW new capacity of power plants in the USA, South America, the Europe - Middle East Region (EMEA) and Southeast Asia.
Preceeding his assignment at STEAG, Boris worked for 9 years with Dresdner Bank Group in Project Advisory and Project Finance in Eastern Europe and South America.
Boris holds a Master's Diploma in Economics of the University of Hamburg. He is fluent in German, English and Spanish with a good command of French.
